Founded in 1977, J.Prior – Fábrica de Plásticos, began its activities with the focus on development plastic parts to irrigation systems for agriculture.

Since its inception, it was assumed as fundamental binomial for the viability and company’s success, the effort to keep technological level updated as well as ensure the constant innovation of the processes and products.

The sustainable growth over the years reside in technological investment, continuing training of our collaborators, attention to opportunities and market needs.

Our Know-how with over 40 years in the injection of thermoplastic parts for the industry has given us guarantees of competence to operate in a wide variety of sectors: electronic, electricity, house appliance, automotive, gaming, irrigation systems, other fluids and security, enabling us to offer competitive solutions and excellent services to our customers.

  J.Prior - Plastic Industry has grown essentially in two large areas:

  • Productive Innovation: acquisition of new equipment and supply systems more efficient and innovative, such as the acquisition of new 100% electric injection machines.

  • Improvement of processes and products: implementation of the feed's refrigeration system of raw materials which works automatically.
    Redefining layouts and production flows, reducing losses and times, improving the symbiosis between productivity and quality.

  • • Started its activity initially named as José Creoulo Prior & Filhos Lda with a team of 20 employees.

    • Core Business: development of plastic parts to irrigation systems for agriculture

  • Started the manufacture of plastic parts for the portoguese market in a new sector of electricity components.

  • Affirmed itself in the portuguese market as a reference company in the production and commercialization of irrigation systems, ending up also expanding in this area its performance in Spain.

  • Created and proceeded to a national registration of the Marlux brand with a set of irrigation products.

  • Changed its name to J.Prior Lda. In the same year, it achieved the recognition as a PME Líder company and obtained the NP EN ISO 9001:2000 management system's certification.

  • The company tightly invested in injection services area, becomes a supllier of plastic helmets to a worldwide known brand.

  • Obtained the classification under the IAPMEI's initiatives as PME Excellence and won the renewal of Certificate NP EN ISO 9001:2008.

  • • Created and developed an engineering team exclusively dedicated to Research and Development.

    • Build a hydraulic laboratory for irrigations testing.

    • The structure of J.Prior was expanded and already had a team of 123 employees subdivided by 12 departments.

  • The R&D core received the NP 4457 certificate and the company achieved the status of SME Excellence 2015.

  • • Expanded the facilities area to more than 15000m².

    • Updating of the Manufacturing layout.

    • Acquisition of new injections machines.

    • Acquisition of new equipments to R&D and metrology department.

    • The HR structure counted on 150 employees based on efficient management policies that allowed not only the growth of the company, but also the achievement of the PME Leader 2016 status.

  • • 40th JPrior's Birthday.

    • Completion's phase of the transition project for the NP EN ISO 9001:2015 standard.

    • Beginning of the process of implementing the requirements of IATF 16949:2016 standard.

  • • Renewal of the certificate ISO 9001 e NP 4457.

    • Training in the core-tools of IATF 16949.

    • Digitalisation of productive processes.

    • SME Leader 2018.

  • • Enlargement of manufacturing area da área fabril  in more than 5000 m².
